The Colombian novelist and Nobel Laureate Gabriel García
Márquez passed away on Thursday at the age of 87.
Márquez’s work is highly influential and it re-vitalized
the Latin American literary production. His contribution to the development of
magical realism is unquestionable.
And like all great writers he was wise and insightful.
So I would like to remind you one of his very apt
observations:
“It is not true that
people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they
stop pursuing
dreams.”
May he rest in peace and may he keeps touching people’s
hearts with his words.
